#GivingTuesday

National Day of Giving encourages giving back. It takes place every year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Most of us have just spent the Thanksgiving weekend stuffing our faces, running through stores trying to find the best deal, and rushing into the busiest time of the year. Giving Tuesday reminds us to reflect on something outside of our own needs and wants—others.

National Day of Giving reminds us to give to those in need. This is a time where we can take a look at our favorite charities or organizations and ask ourselves if we have given our time, resources, and money this past year the way we thought we would or should. We not only should take some time to reflect, but also can take action to pour more attention into organizations we are passionate about that we may have neglected with the busyness of everyday life. The purpose of this day is to celebrate generosity and to give!

Try these ways to give:
-Set up a collection for non-perishable food at work. Deliver the collection to a local food pantry.
-Donate gift cards to a shelter.
-Collect new toys and donate them to children spending the holidays in the hospital.
-Make blankets for those receiving cancer treatment.
-Visit elderly or disabled neighbors in assisted living facilities.
-Purchase holiday gifts at businesses that you know support charitable causes.
