Job Summary: SafeCare is an evidenced based, parent training curriculum for parents of children 0-5 who are at risk for or have been reported for child neglect or physical abuse. SafeCare providers will work with families in their homes to increase parents’ skills in the areas of parent-child interaction, home safety, and child health helping parents build a solid foundation for their children’s health and wellbeing. Providers must deliver SafeCare to families in the way it was designed and adhere to the SafeCare protocols while being regularly monitored by a coach and attending weekly team meetings. This position will report to the SafeCare Enrollment Coordinator in Craighead County and is grant funded. It is contingent on funding availability. Department: 018331 – SAFECARE ADMIN
- Duties & Responsibilities
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Accepts and enrolls families in SafeCare services meeting required deadlines.
- Works closely with SafeCare Enrollment Coordinator to enroll and serve eligible families.
- Ensures family eligibility requirements are met according to DCFS and National SafeCare office requirements,
- Assists in new families’ screening and orientation activities.
- Delivers SafeCare services to parents
- Administers assessments required by program.
- Provides and monitors services to families as outlined in the SafeCare Model Implementation Training.
- Drives to family homes and delivers the SafeCare home-based intervention, activities, and curriculum that enhances parent education while being both creative and flexible.
- Attends all relevant planning meetings, team meetings, trainings, and other events.
- Remains open and responsive to coaching, supervision, and feedback.
- In compliance with ACH’s Fleet Management Policy, drives ACH owned, leased or personal vehicles frequently in the performance of essential job duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the SafeCare Enrollment Coordinator or the SafeCare Arkansas State Manager.
- Establish flexible and after hour availability appointments when visiting parents families in their homes.
- Planning, preparation and documentation
- Monitors supplies needed for delivery of services and alerts supervisor when replacement supplies need to be ordered.
- Maintains accurate written and electronic records and documentation. Inputs data in required databases.
- Participates actively in all training programs required and attends additional training as requested by SafeCare Enrollment Coordinator or SafeCare Arkansas State Manager.
- Reports suspected child maltreatment and/ or suspected child maltreatment as well as adult maltreatment and and/ or suspected adult maltreatment when abuse is observed or suspected
- May participate in family centered meetings and/ or court hearings on an as needed or requested basis.

III. Qualifications
Education Requirements
Required: Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma Field of Study: social work, education, sociology, psychology, human services, counseling, or related field in the human services field Note: If an applicant only has an associate’s degree they must have experience in child development, home visiting, and/or parenting.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university Field of Study: social work, education, sociology, psychology, human services, counseling, or related field in the human services Note: If they have a bachelor’s degree experience is NOT required.
Experience Requirements
Preferred: 2 years Internship, case management, child welfare, home visiting, child development, or parenting education. Experience
Certification / License / Registry Requirements Required: Driver’s License (Class D) with good driving record in Arkansas Candidate must possess at time of hire.

Required: Open to learning and implementing new curricula or intervention programs

Required: Basic computer skills. (Microsoft, Outlook, and database entry)
Required: Must submit for Arkansas Child Maltreatment check
Preferred: Able to be both creative and flexible in delivering services to families
Preferred: Understands the importance of program fidelity
