Woods-Mitchell and Associates began operation in 1990.  In December 2003, the name was changed to Life Strategies Counseling, Inc. and a new era began.  Founded by  William Wolters, M.D. and Dawn Mitchell, LPC,  the company received full accredidation by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) in April 2004.  This allowed for certification from the Department of Behavioral Health Services and the granting of an independent Medicaid license to provide Rehabilitative Services for Persons with Mental Illness (RSPMI) services.
